In the humble village of Chak No. 6/4-L, Okara (Punjab, Pakistan), one man planted seeds that are still giving life today.
Fr. Aldino Giovanni Amato, OP came not with riches, but with a heart full of compassion and a deep belief that every person carries dignity, and every child deserves a future.
In a place where poverty could have silenced dreams, he built schools, opened hostels, and encouraged families to choose education over despair.
He would gently remind parents:
“Your children are God’s gift—let them grow.”
And slowly, a village began to rise.
A Mission of Healing Hearts
Fr. Amato’s mission went beyond education.
He cared deeply for the hearts of families.
He guided couples with wisdom and faith, teaching patience, understanding, and respectful communication.
Through his presence, many families experienced not only spiritual care but also a deeper psychological awareness, helping marriages grow stronger and more loving.
A Father to the Forgotten
He never forgot those who were left behind.
With quiet compassion, he reached out to widows, offering clothing, support, and above all, dignity.
In small but meaningful ways, he reminded them that they were seen, valued, and never alone.
Continuing His Garden
Fr. Amato planted a garden of hope in Chak 6/4-L; watered with love, sacrifice, and faith.
Today, at the MacKillop Foundation, we humbly continue to water the same garden he planted.
Through our efforts, we:
- Support children through free educational programs
- Assist families with school fees and uniforms
- Provide psychological awareness and guidance to couples
- Care for widows with compassion and practical support
- Offer training and an income source for mothers
We believe—just as Fr. Amato believed — that education brings dignity, and healing hearts transform communities.
Final Reflection
One man planted seeds of love in a small village…
Today, generations continue to grow because of him.
His mission did not end— it lives on in every act of service, every child supported, and every life uplifted.
Together, we will continue to nurture his garden of hope.
